Early April marks a milestone in the recruitment of young talent at Sasol Germany: Sasol Germany GmbH and the West Coast University of Applied Sciences (FH Westküste) have entered into a partnership for a dual study programme. From the winter semester 2024/25, aspiring technology enthusiasts will be able to put their passion into practice and study electrical engineering and information technology on a dual study programme.
For Sasol Germany GmbH, this is the first time that dual students have been integrated into the training programme. This initiative enables students to gain valuable experience in both an academic and business environment right from the start.
Judith Hübner, Managing Director of Sasol Germany GmbH, is delighted: "We know that we need strong young talent for a successful future. For this reason, we at Sasol regularly ask ourselves how we can position ourselves even better as an attractive employer for young people in the region. In addition to our numerous apprenticeships, campaigns such as the "Future Day" or the cooperation with the chemistry course at the local grammar school, we would now like to specifically address prospective students. We have found exactly the right partner for this in FH Westküste."
The West Coast UAS is also convinced of the great added value of the new cooperation for everyone involved. Prof Dr Anja Wollesen, President of the West Coast University of Applied Sciences, explains: "As a university, we attach great importance to teaching course content in an application-oriented way. In this way, we create a real bridge between theory and practice for our students. A dual study programme is particularly suitable for this. Having found a strong regional partner in Sasol not only makes us proud as FH Westküste and makes us look forward to further cooperation, but also makes us particularly happy for the future students."
The dual study programme in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology comprises seven exciting and challenging semesters. The application phase has just begun.
This partnership is not only a springboard for future students, but also a further demonstration of Sasol's commitment to the Dithmarschen region.
