Sasol Italy earns gender equity certification

The Italian Organisation for Standardisation (UNI) has certified Sasol Italy’s gender equity programme under its prestigious UNI/PdR 125:2022 program.
The honour is awarded to companies that demonstrate an ongoing commitment to promoting equality and inclusion within the workplace. Sasol Italy has been working toward certification since the standard was introduced in 2022, with measures to ensure pay equity; promote women to leadership positions; support work-life balance; and prevent all forms of gender discrimination.
Sasol Italy also created mentoring programs for women and implemented inclusive leadership training to strengthen its workplace culture.
“This achievement is a tangible sign of our dedication to creating a fair and diversity-friendly work environment,” said Monica Pirali, senior manager HR Italy & Asia. “It’s an honour we all share, because we could not have earned certification without the contributions and commitment of our employees, who embrace the values of diversity and inclusion.”
Certification also gives Sasol a competitive advantage in both recruiting/retention and in earning business.
“More and more customers and partners are seeking out companies that adopt social responsibility policies and promote equality,” Pirali said. “This certification reinforces our reputation in the marketplace as a responsible and caring company.”
Certification is based on a company’s performance in six primary areas:
- Culture and strategy
- Governance
- HR processes
- Opportunities for growth and inclusion of women in business
- Pay equity between men and women
- Parental protection and work-life balance
Sasol Italy earned certification following a two-phase audit and review by a technical committee that includes representatives from various governmental departments, including the Department for Family Policies, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies and more.
The certification is valid for three years.
