LIPOXOL MED
LIPOXOL MED grades are widely used excipients in a variety of pharmaceutical preparations. The liquid LIPOXOL MED grades are used as solvents, solubilizers, and viscosity regulators in liquid pharmaceutical formulations. Solid grades are used as a suppository base and act as binder and plasticizer for tablets. Mixtures of liquid and solid LIPOXOL MED grades are used as ointment base, and LIPOXOL 3350 MED SP and LIPOXOL 4000 MED SP serve as active pharmaceutical ingredients in laxatives.
Features:
Temperature of melting and solidification range increases with increasing molecular weight; soluble in polar organic solvents like alcohols, benzene, glycerin, glycol or chloroform; good solubility in water; hygroscopic; moisturising; offers soft and readily dispersible ointment bases; enables liquid flow opposed to resorption; is non- toxic and non-irritant to skin shows cleansing and drying effect; provides conditioning effect after application; dissolves many active substances
