N-PARAFFINS
Normal paraffins are used in a wide range of applications including solvent formulations, aerosol manufacturing and as feedstock for producing chlorinated paraffins. They are also utilized in metalworking, mineral processing, and as a low odor illumination fuel. Sasol’s synthetic, highly linear normal paraffins are derived from the Fischer-Tropsch process and have unique carbon number distributions. They are distinct from conventional normal paraffins obtained from crude oil due to the inherent absence of impurities like aromatics and heteroatoms, making them suitable for use as high purity catalyst carriers and process solvents in sensitive applications.
