Sasol recently earned Ecocert verification for biosurfactants LIVINEX SL and CARINEX SL – bringing the company’s total of Ecocert-verified products to 17.

Ecocert Greenlife SAS is a French organization that provides verification for more than 150 standards in the food, farming, forestry, textiles, cosmetics and eco-products sectors worldwide. The Ecocert seal of approval proves to the market that products contain ingredients of natural origin or renewable resources, are free of petrochemicals and were produced using fair trade practices. It also signifies respect for the environment through the use of a sustainable supply chain, including reduced water consumption, energy use and waste generation.

 “Verification is important for Sasol because the demand for products that have achieved it is very high, especially in France and the Nordic countries,” says Louis Snyders, Vice President Care Chemicals. “Having this verification proves that our next-generation biosurfactants meet the highest standards for safety and environmental performance. It gives us a competitive advantage – enabling us to differentiate our products from others in the marketplace.”

 Ecocert’s rigorous product review standards are the most demanding in the industry and demonstrate that the manufacturing company is committed to sustainability.

 “Verification of our biosurfactants is a major step forward in growing our market presence, especially since there is increasing demand for sustainable and natural products,” says Snyders. “In the Personal Care market in many parts of Europe, for example, having Ecocert verification is a must. Consumers are quick to ask if new products have received this verification, and we see that trend growing across all markets.”
